Ok; I'm just gonna come out & say it; my rating is a 3 on a scale of 10
Never been so disappointed in Scorcese
Was hoping the video, & audio were re-mastered; NOT!
Watching on a BRAND NEW Sony XBR-55X800G/in 4K HDR, I figured it to be a WOW.
Instead, the video was in Standard definition, with bars; yikes! It was so grainy, like it's 1975 all over again
C'mon, this is 2019, & re-mastering is the norm, not the exception.
Dylan's face was painted like the Joker, in Batman
Too much jabber, & not enough music
Audio was 5.1 surround & decent, not great
I know there were limitations, but lets be real; this wasn't a bootleg
Truthfully, the CD version, & the Amazon Music streams, were as exciting as the 5.1 mixes; unacceptable
2+ hours of boring babble, with a little music mixed in
Thoughts?

The surround mix wasn't great, but I thought the film itself was fantastic! Lots of full length performances of some his best songs. Was great to see some of the amazing musicians playing their butts off, including Roger McGuinn and Mick Ronson, and Scarlet Rivera's violin playing is absolutely masterful. The scene of Alan Ginsburg reciting poetry in a bingo hall/old folks home is hilarious. Also some amazing footage of Joni Mitchell playing Coyote backstage and Patti Smith doing her punk poetry.

I really liked it, so many laugh out loud and chesty chuckle moments, the mixture of fact and fakery is brilliant. Some amazing performance pieces, I just wish there was more, also it could have been longer, three hours maybe. As for the graininess, well it was from 16mm, doesn't bother me. 8/10 rating imo.
