In theory, if you had capacitors aging and going bad in a QRX model, typically what type of tonal change would you expect- a muddy tone lacky treble or the opposite, a shrill brittle tone? Or can it go either way? I'm trying to get my 8001 and 7001 up to snuff and to my ears the 8001 needs treble boosted pretty high but I get a much warmer sound than the 7001. The 7001 is the opposite- you have to crank the treble way down as it sounds too bright and a bit brittle for lack of a better term. I was wondering which one is performing closer to what it should be. A tough question to answer i'm sure without hearing them but thought I'd throw it out there.
