I didn't feel that this should be posted in the ebay section as I'm not posting any links. But there's a seller from Ontario who's posted a healthy selection of Q8's and a good many of them are Canadian RCAs!

Other than B.W. Stevenson's "My Maria", are any other RCA Q8's Canadian Only?

I saw those. The Eric Clapton was of a type I'd never seen. I saved that jpeg for the QQ archives.

Don't know for RCA - as for Canadian only, two Q8 of James Last - Non stop Dancing 1974 and Non stop Dancing 1974 vol. 2.
Not music for all tastes however funny and active quad mix. Heck, sometimes a "party" tape comes in handy!

Hello,

I have a Canadian Q8 of S/T BS&T with "Spinning Wheel". Not sure if it's Canadian only. Sure would like to get a good conversion of it. It's the best, sonically speaking, Q8 that I have.

Jon, is there a universal Q8 logo for the header at the top of the Quad pages?

Spinning Wheel appears also on BS&T's Greatest Hits Q8. I wasn't aware they had a self-titled album come out in Q8. I'll have to check the discography.

Just checked: It appears that BS&T's Self Titled album was some kind of "Matrix" release. No mention of a Q8. What's the mix like? Is it discrete? Can you post up a pic?

Blood Sweat & Tears II. Columbia PCQ-30994 (SQ), CAQ-30994 (Q8)
CQ 30994 (SQ) [Canada]

It looks like they labeled it as II in the quad discography, although I've never seen it called that anywhere else. It is their second album, so I guess I see why someone might notate it that way when compiling a list. I've always thought this is a common Q8, although I never bothered to pick up a copy, after they kicked Al Kooper out they just weren't as good.

I was looking at the entry above:

Blood Sweat & Tears. Columbia PC-9270 (DY) {Only one cut,
"Spinning Wheel", is encoded}

Blood Sweat & Tears II. Columbia PCQ-30994 (SQ), CAQ-30994 (Q8)
CQ 30994 (SQ) [Canada]

I took that one as their "first" album. Wierd.

Here's pictures of the cart.

Those James Last's Q8's must be rare. I've never seen them for sale. They are on my must get list.

Hello,

The mix is discrete and with BS&T there is lots to work with and spread all around. i.e.: Horns, piano, vocals, guitars, bass, drums. In general the music is laid out quite nicely and the solos just jump right out at you from all directions, a fun listen...
