Is this thread still about the new 5.1 release of APP’s Eye in the sky?
Sorry about my question out of place, just post it again on the right thread.
Regards,
Is this thread still about the new 5.1 release of APP’s Eye in the sky?
I was reading an article on a topic unrelated to music where the author mentions the name Elmer Gantry. I said to myself, hmmmmmm, isn't he one of the vocalists on the Eye In The Sky album? So I Googled the name and came up with this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elmer_Gantry
So my question: Is this Elmer Gantry on Eye In The Sky a real person, or is it just tongue-in-cheek humor by the Alan Parson's Project? I would surmise the latter; but if so, then who is this person singing this track adopting the alias of Elmer Gantry?
(Silly, humorous answers welcome.)

Breaking news:
The 5.1 mix of "Eye in the Sky" has won a Grammy! Extremely well-deserved and every congratulations is owed to the master himself, Alan Parsons for a superb effort!
I'm with you on that one, my favourite AP release. All congrats to Parsons.
Next project; I Robot fo sho!
Purty please? lol.
Is this a first? Has a rock/pop album ever won for best surround album?! Fantastic! Time to listen again
Nice, thanks for posting that link. I'd say, it's a decent list. Though.....never Steven Wilson as a winner....which is mind-numbing.Yes, there have been several including Dire Straits, The Beatles, Donald Fagen and Roger Waters. Here is the full list.

I wonder irf Steven Wilson submits his work for nominations? He may not desire that status. Just my curiousity peaking through. He definitely deserves it compared to some of the stuff that I wouldn't think twice about at the awards over the last couple decades..
There was another thread where we list our "Top 5" for the year and I forgot about this great recording. It should have been on the list as it is a top notch mix.
I am glad that Mr. Parsons won this award. I am intrigued by the category title. Immersive Audio is a term I have not heard before, but definitely works, whether you listen to music in 3 channel or more than I can imagine, music should be immersive, as well as inclusive.
