Bill Clinton?
The sound of that man's voice makes me sick. Especially after what he said about the south during the Trent Lott fiasco. I won't be buying that one, I don't want to hear the voice of a traitor every time I listen to music, even if it is in quad.

The Quadfather

I totally agree Quadfather.

Republican National Committee Chairman Marc Racicot called Clinton's comments "misleading" and "divisive rhetoric."

"This is another tired example of Bill Clinton misrepresenting the facts and misleading the American people to gain political advantage," Racicot said.

>>So what exactly did he say about the south?>>

"How can they jump on him when they're out there repressing, trying to run black voters away from the polls and running under the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina?" Clinton said Wednesday in New York. "I mean, look at their whole record. He just embarrassed them by saying in Washington what they do on the backroads every day."

"I think that the way the Republicans have treated Senator Lott is pretty hypocritical, since right now their policy is, in my view, inimical to everything this country stands for," Clinton said while attending an event for the European Travel Commission.

"They've tried to suppress black voting, they've ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina. And from top to bottom, the Republicans supported it. So I don't see what they're jumping on Trent Lott about."

We have been told for years that the Confederacy was a government of hate and slavery. This is false and is nothing but yankee propaganda. Now it is the propaganda of the marxist left, who fears the spirit of defiance that the Confederate flag represents. The true causes of the war had to do with economic reasons and the defense of the sovereignty of the states, which the war destroyed. It is true that slavery was a hot issue of the time, but not the cause of the war. If the south had won, slavery would have ended here like it did every where else in the world except in commumist and African countries where it still goes on. There would have been no reconstruction, no Ku Klux Klan and no Jim Crow. It is quite possible a reunion of the states would have occurred, but not at the point of a bayonet. Yes, southerners love the Confederate flag. We revere Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis. But not because of slavery or hate towards people of other races. The Confederacy fought to preserve the original intent of the founding fathers of the United States. The Confederate constitution was very similar to the U.S. constitution, though it did allow slavery, it was not a racist manifesto. One other thing. We get along with black people better here than anywhere else. We have to. We live among plenty of them. Southerners have not tried to run blacks away from the polls or supress black voting in a long, long time.
Lately southerners have had to endure an unrelenting barrage of insults from the north, and we're getting fed up with it. My ancestors all fought for the south and I'm damned proud of that. Bill Clinton is a liar, a traitor to the south and a traitor to the U.S. and the whole idea of freedom. He has strengthened our enemies which we will discover when North Korea fires a nuclear missle at us. Don't think it could happen? Remember 9-11-2001.

The Quadfather

P.S. I know this is not quad, but including Bill Clinton on an SACD kinda opened a can of worms.

Boy ! I'm staying out of this one>>.....
I didn't hear what Clinton said, but it must have been a good one! I'm Politicaly incorrect!

Wow - off topic indeed! But since you asked... Clinton may have gone too far when he implied that the South was somehow a racist area. My experience in areas such as Georgia and Florida is that they are in many respects racist than here in the great northwest. But there is no denying that he was RIGHT ON the mark where he said that the republicans must be kidding the way they have jumped Lott for his clearly racist comments. In reality, the entire Bush agenda, adn indeed the entire republican party platform mirrors Lott's racist agenda. He was just voicing what the bulk of that party is too dishonest to say in the light of day. And as far as strengthening our enemies, well, do you feel safer today than you did 2 years ago?
Marc

So what of Lott's agenda was racist? Frist needs to press on with the Republican agenda just as it was, or press the president's agenda. It is not racist to oppose an issue just because it is a "black" issue. A stupid idea is Just as stupid when a black guy is pushing it. Take affirmative action, for instance. It is simply discrimination against white people. Or Jim Crow for white people. It is as bad an idea for white people as it was for black people. If we are to say that discrimination is wrong, then it is wrong for everyone. I think that forced integration is just as wrong as forced segregation. The government shouldn't be involved in either. It's just not the government's business.

The Quadfather

Frankly, much of life is none of the government's business but they have made it so and people who don't question what is happening have let it become more so.

Whether Trent Lott is racist or not is secondary. It's more the fact that when the spotlight is thrust upon him he says stupid things and that quickly becomes a political liability! Bye-bye

I'm a moderate who operates from the notion that everybody is full of *&^%$#@, political campaigns are obscenely too expensive, making political favors too good to not exploit for personal gain. All elected officials are suspect, they work for us and these people should not be career politicians because of the corruptiuon in encourages. Do the job and go back to private sector! Live and work morally, not the revolving door.

Seems the more conservative one is, the louder he is about it, his opinions matter more and contrary views are dismissed as not existing at all. I'm not going to sit idly by any more.

I'm as much a patriot as anybody else, which is why the state of politics sickens me so. Both parties are well-oiled machines hard-wired to focus groups not actual voters.

Stupid ideas come in all colors, on that we are agreed.

So... how the heck are they gonna sell me more SACDs if they're still so expensive and not all multi-channel?
