I was one of many caught in the Windham Hill wave and enjoyed albums like December.

He had been battling cancer.

Sad to hear this news, it was Winston that led me into the New Age genre and especially all of the Windham Hill label releases.

Never saw him live, I've got all the "seasons" CDs and a couple more - "December" is one of my all time favorites.
I'll miss him - my thoughts to his family and cats.

I have several Windham Hill Laserdiscs, which are quite special to me. It’s sad that we’re losing talent at such a rate.

The "Autumn" album went platinum and secured WH records into the next decade. It's the one most often referenced when Winston albums are mentioned.

Love Michael Hedges. I wonder what he’d be up to on the guitar or with music in general if he was still with us.

Loved George Winston - who loved Vince Guaraldi. Saw George in concert once in the way back. Haven't listened to him in a while but will. Such great discs to put on when you were feeling low or burned out. I figured out how to sort of play 'Thanksgiving' on my piano, in a hacker sort of way, and thought it was the greatest

We enjoy December so much here. My wife and I were fortunate to see him at The Franklin Theatre in TN town of same name. His playing - even on other instruments - was focused and sublime. He had an odd duck stage manner that I recall. Great talent.
