I have a Sansui QRX 6001 that needs work. Various functions don't work and several displays don't work. The nit powers up and produces sound, it just doesn't have full functionality.

My plan is to buy the circuit boards out of another QRX, recap them, and plug them into my 6001, if possible. Before i do this, I want to verify that the boards can be swapped. I have the opportunity to purchase someone else's abandoned project- a set of 9001 boards and a bag full of new capacitors. Is it possible to retrofit the 9001 boards into the 6001 unit? Any issues I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Here is a list of the boards being sold:

Circuit boards: F-2633 (dolby, selector, tape monitors, etc), F-2589 (CD-4 board), F-2624 (Amplifier boards -2), F-2087 and F-2088 (Quad matrix boards).

Well, a little research and I think I have answered my own question.

The 6001 uses different circuit boards except for F-2087 and F-2088, the QS Matrix board and the QS Phase Control Circuit board, respectively. The 6001 doesn't have Dolby so it doesn't have F-2633, and doesn't use F-2589 or F-2624. Bummer. Oh well, I have my bid in, so I might still get a bag of new caps and some decoder boards.

Yep, I did some more research and it looks like the 8001 and 9001 series QRXes share all their boards, but the 5001-7001 series only share the F-2087 and F-2088 boards with the 8001 and 9001 series. Crap. I might be wasting my money.
