LH Labs Announces Pure DSD Protocol

An interesting announcement today. LH Labs, the folks behind the popular Geek Out USB stick DACs, are developing a new protocol named Pure DSD.

The goal is to have something more efficient than today's DSD over PCM (DoP) protocol that also can support DSD 256 and Multichannel DSD efficiently. One to watch.

It will be interesting to see if other DAC makers jump on this bandwagon. For companies like exaSound that have their own DAC-specific custom drivers, there may be no need.
