That is a great deck. I've used it to record and master from. Compared to my 3340 it has a more solid feel. It is much newer than the 3340. Just keep the pitch control centered especially if recording with it in the future.
You have to pull out the pitch control for it to have any effect, so it doesn't matter if you keep it centered or not.
And you will want to keep the Cue switch in the down position during any fast winding.
alrighty.
two questions. Why does does it play so fast? I have adjusted the pitch and the large / small reel button and the speed button. Still sounds like the chipmunks.
second question. Why do two channels play forward and two channels play in reverse? thanks for humoring me. Im getting there.
okay third questions. If the belts are old, wouldnt it play slower? or not play at all?
Your tape must have been recorded at 3 3/4 IPS then. What tape is it? And it's a stereo tape. That's why tracks 2 and 4 would be in reverse.
