Fisher 701 Quadraphonic Receiver (1970)

Rarity: RARE
Average Sale Price: $100.00

Seem's whenever these old top line Fisher Quad units turn up...most seem to pass them by. I've read a few posts in other forums of people passing up these units (...and the later 801) for $80 or less. In the current market, the average I put above (..or much much less), should most likely score you one of these.

The 701 was one of the first Quadraphonic Receivers released. According to the Ad posted below...it was THE first Quadraphonic Receiver.

Early days here for Quad...so no "Name" decoders included...it was mostly geared toward discrete Quad sources, like 4 channel reel to reel or 8 track Quad cartridge. The 701 was the top of this line until the identical looking 801 came along in approx 1972. The 701 could be hooked up to a wired remote control. The 801 had the ability to use a cordless ultrasonic remote...but this only controlled the Autoscan tuner advance function.

The Ad below is from October 1970.
