I was looking through an old Sound and Vision Magazine
(2003-7/8) and found an article titled "Quad Revisited" (p29).
A SQD-2020 was obtained from eBay, aligned and SQ LPs
were played with a Shure V15V and processed through
Cool Edit Pro 2.0 to remove clicks and pops.
From the article:
"...background noise from the quad discs...was even more
obvious as it sloshed around the four speakers than it would
have been in stereo."
My receiver has Dolby Pro-logic, I haven't tried my few Dolby
Surround pre-recorded Cassettes to see if the Logic system
causes "noise pumping", is noise pumping from LP/cassette
sources a problem with variable matrix logic decoders
(that do not use gain riding)?
