Hi

Just picked this up and there is zero and dip output or at the line out jacks

The radio is working because the needle moves when onto a station.

Checked the DC voltages at the bridge rectifiers and all seem there

Would love a schematic ? Anyone know much about the workings of these ?

Road maps always help, but without one, the usual suspects include switch contacts and coupling capacitors.

I don’t know this model, but assuming they exist, I’d first try providing an input to the tape in jacks and seeing if there’s an output. Also see if there’s an output from the tape out jacks. That would at least give you an idea of where to concentrate your efforts. Also, try cleaning the selector switches and pots.

Often, this is a simple fix. I hope yours is simple, because it looks like nice vintage gear.

I have an SS1100-D and i did the schematics myself of the entire system*, including the cd-4 demodulator which is quite different from all other stand-alone unit.

* except the tuner section

On mine, one of the two LD3120 ics was shot so no phono sound on one side and i had to replace all capacitors, specially on the CD-4 demodulator which wasn't working prior to.
This is not a tehcnician friendly unit.
The circuits are hard to follow as the signals go back and forth between the top pcb and the bottom pcb and the CD-4 pcb.
It was necessary to completely disassemble it to follow each traces.

Hi, wish it was a simple issue.

The radio is the only working part as the signal meter moves when tuning stations.

The whole amp section is dead. Line in, line out, all speakers.

I suspect power problem.

I have dc voltages after the rectifiers but I suspect the regulators may be an issue. Hence looking for a schematic. Without it, too much time is required and I don’t have that.

Tried to even buy a schematic and all the manual sites don’t have this. I did get a SS-7700 one and hope it’s somewhat similar.

I didn't found the SS-7700 schematics at the time. Maybe we can trade our respectives schematics?
They cosmetically look very similars except for the mic-mix output that is only stereo on the SS-1100D.
But the pcb may be the same as there are missing identified parts on it.
I have drawn the schematics that include the wiring between boards.
Your problem can be in the power supply or the power transformer which is wired in a peculiar way because
it the amp is 220V and the turntable motor is 100V with a power switch on it too.
I also have some voltages taken if you need to replace the transformer.
I will eventually replace mine because here in Canada it is 120v. I need to use a bulky step-up transformer.

To check the voltage regulator TR-501, you should have +22.7Vdc (regulated by D704 zener diode) at the base, +28.6Vdc at the collector and +22 Vdc regulated at the emitter. You can measure the +22vreg on the plug P407(white wire), P504 (Yellow wire) and P401 (yellow wire) (that one goes to the CD4 decoder). I think it should be fine because the tuner is working but i cannot be sure as i didn't made the schematics of the radio section. You can also check the dc voltage supply for the power output section.
At C707 and C706, you should have +13.2Vdc and -13.2Vdc

Let me know if you want to trade.
I would gladly send you my schematics in exchange for the SS-7700 service manual. :)

i sent you links to download the schematics i made of the SS-1100D system.
I hope it will be helpful
