I finally broke down and just added an Atmos system to my acoustically challenged listening space (my living room). I searched the forum and didn't see a thread for listing the best Atmos mixes- just one for the worst. I'd like to hear other's opinions for best Atmos mixes, disc-based or streaming. Mostly interested in full albums but an exceptional song is welcome too.

My favorites so far:
The Yes Album
Dark Side of the Moon
Workingman's Dead, American Beauty and Europe '72
Speaking in Tongues, Remain in Light, Little Creatures and Stop Making Sense
i/o
Freehand
Kraftwerk The Catalogue
Yello Point

  • Tears For Fears - The Hurting
  • Spoon - Lucifer On The Sofa
  • Monkey House - Remember The Audio
  • Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits

There are two Atmos albums from Matt Darey, that are good mixes, discrete and full use of Tops.

He started to deliver them, "early adopter releaser", as Purchased MKV (TrueHD) downloads in 2019, but in 2021 his labels catalogue was taken over by another big company that closed the Download Store, and now they are only available via streaming.

They were some of my good Initiation to Dolby Atmos in my newly inaugurated atmos room.

Great thread @ProgRules . This will help to determine what to buy when a streamed Atmos mix makes it onto blu-ray.

We'll see how much traction it gets. As sjcorne pointed out above, there have been similar threads and folks have already been through listing favorites/great mixes.

Being new to Atmos, I'm more interested in finding good streaming mixes of artists I'm unfamiliar with. I'll add discs as possible when desired, but right now I just want to sample a wide variety of good Atmos mixes to christen my new system. I've got a few discs- it was actually buying the Yes Album that finally got me to take the dive. Had to see what all the fuss was about for one of my all-time favorite albums. And Dark Side of the Moon was waiting too...

Ok, here are some "under-the-radar" (at least they were for me) streaming-exclusive titles worth checking out:
  • St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
  • The Church - The Hypnogogue
  • Ben Howard - Every Kingdom (really more of a 4.0 quad mix in an Atmos container, but it sounds good)
  • Feist - Multitudes
  • RPWL - Crime Scene
  • Rhye - Home
  • William Orbit - The Painter (the mix on this one is truly bonkers)
  • Lake Street Dive - Obviously
  • Haken - Fauna
  • London Grammar - Californian Soil
  • Joe Bonamassa - Time Clocks

This is a list of some Atmos mixes that I find good.
They belong to music styles that I didn't liked before, because I was a unique fan of prog rock.
But thanks to the good Atmos mix, I quite enjoy listening to them:
  • Anne B Savage - inFLUX
  • xPropaganda - The Heart Is Strange
  • Kiko King & creativemaze - Halos Guilt
  • Rodriguez Jr. - BLISS
  • Diplo - MMXX
  • Saya Grey - 19 MASTERS
  • Kx5 - Kx5
  • Sabrina Claudio - Based On A Feeling
  • Bonobo - Fragments
  • Orbital - Optical Delusion
  • Jazzmachine - 24
  • Leftroman - Black Hole Reverb
  • Billie Eilis - Various Albums
  • Finneas - Optimist

Wow, I can't believe your list! Eight of these would also be on MY initial Atmos Hall of Fame! We have the same tastes! :)

My 2 cents: Best ATMOS mixes so far: BluRay only !! NOTE: I have a 5.1.4 Atmos setup. (wired for 7.1.4 eventually)
1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniv - Reissue - BluRay
2. Peter Gabriel - I/O

BTW, I recommend using the Pink Noise generator on the DSOTM BluRay to Calibrate your particular Room. For me & my room, this made the biggest difference in enjoying my Atmos system. Adjust levels (and EQ, especially if using diff Mfg speakers in your surrounds/height speakers) to match as closely as possible to your Mains (L/R).
I have a Denon 3700 AVR. Please do not rely on the Denon AVR Audessey Calibration. Also the Tone generator in the Denon is OK. Many more settings to discuss in other threads.

I have both those BDs- and yes, they are awesome. But I'd place SW's two Yes Atmos mixes above both. And can hardly wait for his Close to the Edge Atmos mix!

But I was looking for streaming gems (of which I've received a lot of great suggestions). There's plenty of feedback on here about the Atmos mixes released on disc, but the streaming only versions have no poll threads.
