Linking this to surround sound - I recently recorded one of my Dolby Surround demo CDs onto a cassette (type 1 tape, Dolby B NR on) and played it on a different cassette machine (Dolby B NR off) just to see if Dolby Pro-Logic could cope with the dynamic frequency response changes of mismatched Dolby B NR and still route sounds to the correct location (it could).
