[Darkstar Fanzine] Phil Newell Interview mentions Oldfield Quad Mixes

Yes, I know this exists because I have seen it, held it and heard it at another Oldfield collectors home in Germany ! He played it through his stereo. just 4 extracted tracks. Bright red flexi disc 7" in a clear acetate sleeve.

Ha ha... I had to look up what the heck a "flexi-disc" was just to keep up with the conversation! I seem to remember some of these in my youth. None quad, of course! And I think the ones I remember the most probably had a paper back on them. But maybe some were completely "flexi-acetatey" on both front and back (???) if I'm not creating a false memory from my childhood, that is????
