I've had the Dave Mason Q-8, "It's Like You Never Left" for quite some time now but have never given it a good listen; until tonight.
I was pleasantly surprised with the mix on this album. It was no doubt a quad mix that someone took time with and gave thought to. The electric, acoustic, rhythm and lead guitars were placed nicely around the soundstage in all the songs. The lead vocals were placed front center with the backing vocals popping up in the rears. This is an album where listening in the sweet spot is desirable.
I'll be sure to re-visit this album again in the near future and would recommend that all you Q-eighties out there pick one up for yourself.
