DTS Neo:6 Matrix (decoding + fake surround)

The number of bands steered varies in each Neo:6 implementation, with the first decoders steering in 12 separate bands and later units steering up to 19.


I didn't see a specific thread to discuss the DTS Neo:6 matrix decoder/fake surround maker - I'm interested in knowing the decoding equations, the type(s) of logic assistance and the number of frequency bands used in various generations of decoders.

I'm not sure about some of the claims about Dolby Pro-Logic in the above link, but it seems like Neo:6 is a fairly good fake surround sound creation system.
