Some of the software is reported to work with any card, but I can't vouch for that.
I use the Creative mediasource 5 player along with AC3filter, and connect to my HT via the analog outs. Plays pretty much anything, DTS wav, MLP, AC3.
(the AC3filter is for DTS wav).
