Sound Quality 85%? ........... It's one of the best sounding surround discs EVER ........

bah its respectable and i'll take what's akin to a QQ 8.5 vote!

(except we don't do things here by halves! :ROFLMAO: )

i haven't picked up that disc yet but from the last comment made there it seems the composer wanted those trumpets to distort, rather than it being a limitation of the recording/source as suggested in the review..?
I don't know it for sure, but it sounds right? Reasonably sure Ormandy knew Prokofiev in the 1930s, and certainly would have been aware of his goals.

Fun fact - Ormandy's last recording of Prokofiev was this:

Quadraphonic vinyl will probably never make a comeback, with even a lot of avid collectors mourning that they don’t have the necessary equipment to play it on. But quadraphonic SACDs are everybody’s opportunity to find out what the fuss was really all about, and you know what? Its original advocates were right.

Hallelujah! Can I get an 'amen' brothers and sisters?!?!
