I've ripped most of my CDs, SACDs, DVD-Audios and Audio-Blu-rays to FLAC-files for my Synology-NAS.
WIth BubbleUPnP, I can listen to them when I'm abroad - the files are transcoded on-the-fly to mp3 (with ffmpeg).
When I select a 5.1-file, BubbleUpnp shows: mp3, 6 channels. So I suppose that ffmpeg is able to encode mp3-surround-files. But how can I hear a proper binaural decoding?
It sounds nice, anyway. But I think I hear a simple stereo downmix.
All the "surround" solutions (like Dolby Atmos on my Samsung) seem to produce virtual surround only from stereo sources.
I wouldn't mind to download these mp3-surround-files at first. But is there a player existing?
Regards,
Martin
