Are the X001 series demodulators somewhat picky? I have the 7001 and a 4DD5 outboard demod. The JVC gives me no trouble. It locks up, provides good separation. The Sansui locks up sometimes, distorts a bit, loses carrier near the inner grooves and during loud passages on the record.
Turntable is a Technics SL-1200 with AT-12S, Shibata stylus. Re-wired tonearm and interconnects with low-capacitance wiring.
Maybe I need to keep tweaking my cartridge alignment?
