MeTV (reruns channel) and fake surround sound

I (VHS) record 8 hours of MeTV each Sat/Sun (recording now from KMBC 9.2), I was wondering, has anyone used upmixing to create fake stereo or fake surround sound soundtracks for these old TV shows?

The 2015 Lost in Space Blu-rays have a bonus/special "widescreenized" + faked 5.1 soundtrack for the first episode of the 3rd season.
