I and others have posted about Empac before, I think; it's an "experimental arts center" in upstate New York that fosters the development of music in surround sound. Last week it premiered new music by Natasha Barrett, "a leading composer in the emerging field of 3-D audio: using high-density loudspeaker arrays (think movie-theater surround sound on steroids) and cutting-edge recording and mixing procedures to create works full of ingenuity and drama." Barrett's discography suggests that at least some of her work has been released on multichannel SACD & DVD-A.
