Vey interesting, a good find. I doubt it would use tubes with no vent holes anywhere.

It's definitely solid state. I searched for this thing and found a few examples on various auction sites over the years. Looks as though it was only ever intended for the far east market. A Vietnamese auction site offered one whose description Google rendered into some form of English as -

"Shop amp my pioneer FR-88 wooden martial arts beat 4 scallops 40watt / 1 can be used with antique speakers or full-range speakers to listen to the whole idea of a beautiful machine "

which all sounds rather charming, but it's really just a weedy little 10W per channel 2ch amp with a cheap matrix decoder.
