I have this, Sidewinder, and Silver Apples of the Moon (Nonesuch, stereo) and maybe I just don't get it but, I agree with Linda.

Subotnick, for me, was an experimentalist as a musician/technician, which meant he came up with new sounds but to describe it as 'music' is to suggest something his projects never were. Definitely not techno--though some working that turf may have gotten ideas from what he was up to--and not really avant-garde to my ears. Overall, a '6' if only because it's good quad, but you have to be a METAL MACHINE MUSIC kind of fan to get into something like this, and that really isn't most of us.
