If only I had pictures...my sophomore high school science project, back in the early seventies, was a quad demo! I hauled in my gear, including a Quadio Q8 deck that I still own, a Garrard turntable, and an off-brand rear channel amp/SQ and EV decoder, the brand of which I cannot recall, but which had horrible hiss, a power light that looked like a Jujube candy, and a lousy volume control/power switch that made a very loud "pop" over the speakers when switched on or off. We played Rock N Roll Hoochie Coo off Rick Derringer's All American Boy in SQ (big glossy gatefold cover on display) as a demo, that being the high school hit of the day! The guy that helped me had a dad who was some kind of engineer, and came up with photos of quad as represented on an oscilloscope display. Didn't win any prizes!
Any other vintage folks have a quad science project story??
