So what I want to know is which one of you bought the Electric Light Orchestra SQ disc that went for over 100 on fleabay last week? Such an amazing album.
The only quad SQ disc I would be willing to pay $100 or now perhaps more, would be this one.Has to be the BRAZILIAN SQ though. The Brithish discs are stereo in a quad lp jacket.
And Hell no I didn't bid or buy this disc.

A lovely mixed bag of QS and SQ, continuing my quest to own every Ovation, Project 3 and ABC/Impulse quad that's out there. The QS/SQ Vinyl Beta Surround Master is quite amazing.

Say Adam, can you not get any UK CBS RECORDS-SQ, either on line close by or in used record stores?

Or is it a case where they have all been destroyed, recycled.

Btw Nektar on United Artists UK, s/b mostly SQ.They used the same metal stamper, as, supplied by Bellaphon Bacillus. I had one that had SQ on one side and stereo the other.

Yes fizzywiggs41, I'm getting almost all of this SQ stuff from UK sites and stores, with the exception of Weather Report/Tale Spinnin', which came from Europe and a couple of Soul/R&B albums which are on their way now from the States.

Interesting Nektar info. Thanks as ever :)

fwiw I have some Nektar SQ-encoded CDs (including the wonderful Down To Earth) and their two SACDs, what else am I missing that's essential?

If I can give some kind of context or at least 'logic' (ha!) to quite what I'm upto (and don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving the new SQ "but not properly decoded yet" vinyl experience all round..) right now I am endeavouring to assemble a small collection of SQ Vinyl titles where there's seemingly no hope of there being any SQ-encoded CD release or potential SACD or whatever discrete format reissue of the Quad..

..I might not be explaining myself well (I've been at work since 6 a.m and am too knackered to think straight!) but just wait til you see some of the stuff I've got coming, which will give you an idea of where I'm headed with this latest pet project.. I had literally no idea some of these albums even existed in Quad form, they so seldom/never get talked about online.. if they're the real deal when they arrive I'll be a very happy camper.. my next move, next month or possibly birthday treat in September (aren't the best birthday presents those we get ourselves!) will be an SQ Surround Master

F*ck.. never seen this one from WR!!!!

Oh crikey Kap! :yikes
Well, I knew it existed from listings in places like here and Mark Anderson's site also but once I'd gone on this latest loopy SQ trip I just had to track one down.. Europe (Sweden, specifically) held the answer, well some kind of answer.. anyway it's on the "new old" vinyl pile for when I finally get that Surround Master (TM) :D

Wow! Lucky lad! I'd love to hear that one. Well any Soul from the 70's actually. Nice score!

Oh! Thanks!
The sleeve (yet again) is not in the kind of condition I would accept if these were "just stereo"
by any means but it was only £7.99 and the record itself looks decent enough with no obvious big scratches but we'll see.. now all I need is a decoder and some time to play all this stuff! :D

This weekend's finds at Parts Express Audiofest.
