Hey where can I get an 8 Track put onto a DTS disc. It not on any lists I have seen. I picked up this Free Design 8 track in good condition a few weeks ago, when I looked it up on the internet it sounded very interesting.

Wow, is that a quadraphonic 8-track or a stereo 8-track? I have heard rumors that the first Free Design album was released in quad but I have never seen one.

The best person to contact for a quality 8-track to DTS conversion is Tab Patterson: http://hometown.aol.com/matrixquad/about.htm

Yea it's a quad tape I think. it's a enoch light project3 total sound stereo. It only has two tracks and the box calls it 4 channel 8 track qaudio by toyo. I pick up 7 Qaudio by Toyo tapes at a local store, Roma Oggi/Tony Mottola, Hollins & Star/Sidewalks Talking, Laura/Laura, Bonnie Koloc/Hold on to me, Dick Schory/Carnegie Hall, Don Tweedy/Chorus & Orchestra and the Free Design/Kites are Fun. I was just doing Quad 8 Track rescue. They were just going up on e-bay till I started reading about Free Design. Now i want to hear this but have no quad 8 track.

Very cool! I love Free Design and would love to hear "Kites Are Fun" in quad. I recently discovered this Free Design website. It even has a forum. You might recognize one of the posters asking about the quad version of "Kites Are Fun" :D

Kites are Fun - was released on Project3. at one time, I had the SQ LP, but have never seen the Q8 that I remember. Larry Clifton and Mark Anderson both show it in Quad Incorporated/Internet Quad Discography repectively as exisiting.

I guess I am less interested in finding out if it was released in quad (now that I know the answer to that question) but more interested in finding out if it is a discrete remix from the multi-track master tapes. The album was originally released in 1967, so I still wonder if it is "fake quad" from stereo or "true quad" from the multi-track tapes.
