Renaissance were at the peak of their popularity when they recorded a series of great concerts, televised and broadcast on TV and radio by the BBC in the 1970s. The group that blended melodic rock with classical music, and featured the outstanding voice of Annie Haslam, were playing at their inspirational best during shows now available on this DVD + 3CD package.

They are seen and heard performing classic songs from their finest albums, such as ‘Ashes Are Burning’ and ‘Turn Of the Cards’ over four discs, including the film of a rare BBC’s ‘Sight & Sound - In Concert’ live show from the Golders Green Hippodrome, London in January 8th 1977.The extensive DVD/CD liner notes include new interviews by Chris Welch with band members Annie Haslam, Jon Camp and Terence Sullivan, who reminisce about the glory days of the group and discuss the superb music they performed on these historic shows.

The 1975 cd (cd 2) isn't from the Stereo Pop broadcast that was SQ quad encoded by The BBC Transcription Services, is it ??

Yes a bit of a stretch I know ......but one never knows :smokin
FWIW :
I was also trying to follow up a lead via Sansui's 4 Channel Scene on whether or not "Renaissance-Turn Of The Cards" was QS encoded. The only correlation I could find was that NY's Media Recording Studio was involved in the final mixing. They had QS Encoding capabilities and did the encode, (not the discrete mix) for Larry Fast's Synergy first album.

Renaissance was one of the Sire/Passport recording artists mentioned in the Sansui announcement for upcoming quad albums by that label in 76.

It would be nice if the concert was SQ, but I suspect not. Turn Of The Cards would be great in Quad/5.1, so would most of the Renaissance for that matter.

AGREE wholeheartedly .(y)

On a separate note , I notice Queen On Air (BBC) is out and about. But the quad Matrix HJ concert is just not viable for the times provided.
Been glancing through QQ's-"Floydin's "ultra-excellent BBC broadcast info (quad included). What a fantastic job he has done. Amazing compilation.
