Just rec'd my copy today from CD Universe. DVD is DTS 5.1 only - sounds fantastic. For the uninitiated this is electronic music - not dance or electronica music - very diverse soundscapes - certainly with elements of beat and percussion but very cinematic in scope. The DTS mix is spectacular. The animation is state of the art and quite unusual - it fills my 51" widescreen quite nicely - excellent resolution both visually and aurally.
I hit the DVD 5.1 trifecta this week - Townsend/Lane "Rough Mix" DualDisc (DVD-A), BT "Binary Universe" (DTS) and Dream Theater "Score" DD 5.1. I know that everyone is bemoaning the end of the 5.1 universe but you couldn't tell from my expenditures lately - and this is all new stuff. Upcoming weeks will reduce my bank account even further - 9/12 Flaming Lips, 9/26 Al DiMeola, 10/3 latest batch of Depeche Mode, November - Doors box! 5.1 is finding it's own level out there - probably not enough to satisfy the devoted, but it's still out there.
