Hear me out guys ... we could really use an "Enter at Your Own Risk" section here; no holds barred, and no teeny tiny feelings. I think we can all get a bit constipated in a sanitized, politically correct forum ... not that manners and sensitivity are not appreciated, don't get me wrong. I just think that we all feel like slamming something that is so totally stupid that it makes us gag, but we hold back. This is not good for our aging constitutions. I am only thinking of our collective health. Who is with me? Mike.

Hi Quad/Mike,

I've never posted a thread in any forum where I didn't feel that I was attempting to communicate my opinion/feeling about a subject/issue/product/concept.

There are many times that I wish my communicative skills in print were better. Even if I made my living communicating that way (I do not), I have, as I'm sure everyone else has read intricately woven descripton/opinion/ supposed fact/actual fact, delivered in a manner that I would describe as "seemingly vague, but actually meaningless".

The concept of a no holds barred or bared catagory should only be permitted when I cannot be critisized for spelling mistakes, and the human race no longer considers the acumulation of toys important.

Efficient communication is difficult enough without having to wade through something that may very easily endup being between 2 individuals, which defeats the entire concept of FORUM.

Mike, I'm speaking soley for myself here, but I will slam or congratulate whatever product or concept that gets my attention.
If, while doing that I run accross an individual whose manner or manner's detract from the subject being discussed. I will ignore or circumvent those threads and leave it to our moderators.

I may have misconstrued entirely the type of catagorey you would like.

Would you please explain it with more detail, I may have missed the point?

Peter m.

Hey Mike, you got something you want to dump on? Go for it! If it gets messy we'll mop it up later. :p

However, I'm not so sure we need a generic "leave your manners at the door" discussion area. It's a nice thought and I hear where you're coming from, but there is no reason you cannot speak your mind and let your true feelings show on the rest of the board.

I think it has less to do with political correctness and more to do with verbal dexterity and sense for what can get you into trouble or not. Heck, much of the time I don't know what the hell is going on and manage to step on a few toes. Live and learn. So live a little... just be prepared for the learnin' part!

I agree 100%. Gotta gripe... let 'er rip. But IMO there are ways of getting your opinion out there without calling names or making fun of someone maliciously. I certainly can take criticism constructively and I don't have a problem with someone being passionate about anything. Hell, I have been at "another" forum ;) for a while now and sometimes you have to be a little thick skinned. So bring it on....

As many of you would guess, I would not mind a no holds barred forum, some where, any where. Being politicly correct all the time makes me constipated too. I think I missed my true calling....
SHOCK RADIO!:smack: :ugham:
All in fun boys! Have a good one!!!!

I am trying to whip up some angst here and the topic turns to sofa cushions ... what is this ... a multi-channel quilting friggin' bee? Let's see some passion, and some real angst! Mike. :D

Hey Guys,

The "Off Topic" forum is open to all posts, bitches, and rants! That's why it's "off topic". If people get offended, they don't have to view the off topic forum.

I don't have any language filters turned on, so you can say what you want. The only thing I would ask is that you do not get personal with anything. Rant and rave all you want, if that is what compels you, just use a modicum of decency! :D

Also, try not to get Cai riled up! :D  :brew

:-jon

I made my point, you don't have to call a spade a fuckin shovel to get you riled.

all i have todo is remind you of those extra two cracks that are aggravating youass instead of modifying the distance relativity of your surround speakers.

It's actually a neat graphic, I don't even know how to implement smileeeys

Why would we do that? Everyone knows DVD-A is better.;)

DVD-Audio is better if you like gimmicks and toys and flogging a dead horse. If you just want to play the damn music and have it sound good ... ... and I bought one of the very first DVD-Audio players for big bucks ... sorry Cai, don't mean to get you riled ... AGAIN!!! Mike.@:

Oh, Oh. Did I do that!

Never use flog and toys in the same sentence. The porno gorts will get you. Add the dead horse and well..........

I will say it again. Depends on the mix etc etc etc as to which format is better. They both have bad and good discs. Blah, blah, blah. Sure, people usually favour one over the other but if you are open minded and have listened to a lot of discs under both formats you realize that they are both great and have their stars.

A few months back we had a poll for DVD-A or SACD and I think that DVD-A was at about 80% by the end of it.

This crap again!!!!!!!! Oy Vay!!!!!!!!

Usually, the guys that have DVD-A player say SACD sucks....the guys that have SACD players say DVD-A sucks.....and guys that have the dv45a (me, and Guy)think they're both great!
