I pre-ordered the Motorhead from Circuit City a couple of weeks ago. I received a message yesterday saying the title will be available on July 29th. We'll see about that!

I cannot believe the Jackson Browne DVD-A's have been re-scheduled, YET AGAIN.... now from July 22 to Sept 9!!!
What...are they going for a guinness record here??? It has to be almost 2 YEARS since I first read that "Running on Empty" was to be released in 5.1 and that original engineer, Greg Ladanyi did the new mix!!! C'mon already!!! This has to be at least the 8th time I've seen this delayed(..and we came so close to making the July 22nd date!!!)
Sorry for venting here but this news just hit a NERVE!

Can u feel my pain????

Tim

Pain? no. Frustration? yes.

I actually updated these release dates about two weeks ago.

According to an in-depth article in a recent ICE issue, tons of additional material was added to Running On Empty. It seems they agreed to do the title for DVD-A way back when, then kept uppingthe stakes as to all the extras that were possible.

Same thing with Megadeth - Peace Sells But Who's Buying DVD-A; a last minute interview with the band has pushed that one back as well.

Extras on DVD-A are usually nothing to write home about and SACD doesn't even bother with them.

What frustrates me is the steady trickle of no-name DVD-A product that does appear on time, while both formats need more multi-channel mixed A-mover titles. I'd take one killer A-mover to 20 of the rinky-dink DVD-A titles. ;)

I feel it!!

When I eventually get that DVD-A, I am sending the wife out, unplugging the phone, and sitting in the "sweet spot" at maximum volume.

This calls for a banana

:-jon

Good one Jon! I agree, It will be time to celebrate when this one finally comes out! I may even buy 2 copies...One for each year that I've been waiting for it!
Seriously, as frustrating as it has been..I will be there 1st thing Sept 9 to pick it up. Should be interesting to hear how this is going to sound in 5.1 being that the original tracks were recorded in various locations such as backstage, in hotel rooms and even on a bus!

Tim

I too am very frustrated at how long this one is taking to gestate, but it will be worth it.

Robin Hurley played me some of it in the control room at Olympic Studios last September and it sounds awesome.

The trouble is both the addition of extras and the fact that Jackson himself came in with some late changes to the mix, at least that was the story nearly a year ago!

Look at that huge list for August 12!!!! Why don't we make it more realistic by cutting it down to Deep Purple, Chicago and Sinatra. That's all I see when I put on my hi-rez glasses and look at it.:sun

Just got this off of www.musictap.net:

"Fleetwood Mac's Fleetwood Mac (Buckingham/Nicks) gets the DVD-Audio treatment on November 11. That should keep a lot of you awake for awhile".

So I guess the album coming out on Sept 9th is Tusk???

These dates have been changed several times, with Tusk and FM(75) have swapping places in release order. I watch Matt's site as one source, will update shortly...
