New live album by Porcupine Tree is out before this year is over and that's it for the lastest physical additions.

IAA brings two new Atmos downloads this time:
The Girl and the Cat sees Lori Lieberman teaming up with The Matangi Quartet (mixed by Bob Clearmountain), and Ida Alanen Trio offer their debut album Awake Asleep.
But that's not all, as @humprof reported in the Bandcamp 5.1 Surround Music Releases thread - there are two BD-A releases with Atmos mixes from 2022 and 2021, respectively, still available via BC:
Jonathan Kawchuk - Everywhen and Justin Gray & Synthesis - New Horizons.

Looking into February 2024, we have a new one announced by Steve Hackett which I always look forward to. And it will be a concept album.

I was hoping he might move over to Atmos, but 5.1 is what we’re getting.

The Circus And The Nightwhale will be available on several different formats, including a Limited CD and Blu-ray mediabook (including 5.1 Surround Sound & 24bit high resolution stereo mixes), standard CD jewelcase, gatefold 180g vinyl LP and as digital album.

EDIT: Sorry, I see there was a thread started for this title. Probably didn’t need to put it here.

Brief belated summary of the last week, though already described in several preceding posts anyway:

The latest title in the SDE Surround Series is Diamond Star Halos by Def Leppard. As it's out on January 12, it qualifies as the first surround release of 2024 (it's not a tie as XII by Barclay James Harvest is a re-press).

Then there's a limited live combo Caught In The Hum by Bruce Soord and finally Steve Hacketts concept album The Circus And The Nightwhale (pre-orders to begin 12/1).

OK, here's a visual bonus - these are all the SDE titles of 2023. Only Trevor Horn, Suede and Concert for George are still available:

Got an email from IAN Records, basically stating:

"We're experiencing unexpected delays in the manufacturing process and simply don't have the album in stock yet." Will ship when they become available.

Anyone gotten theirs yet, maybe in the Europe area?
Got mine today, pups.
It's certainly different but the mix is ace.
Will take some more listens to fully appreciate it.

Gee, all those comments heralding Atmos streaming as the death of physical media have aged well.

Nothing really new in the last ten days except for two Atmos downloads over at IAA - José Bautista's Nitrogen Dreams and Pure Piano Christmas by Roman Tee.
Upcoming titles from the 2L label were postponed until February 2024 and farther.

Therefore, let's throw in another visual bonus here: can you remember what were the biggest box sets of 2023 (according to the total number of discs) with exclusive physical surround content?

An early recap of the week:

Third batch of Rhino Quadios is coming on (or around) January 19th!

Newest album by The Pineapple Thief drops in February, both as a boxset and standalone BD-A.

Resonance, solo album by Boris Blank of Yello follows a week later on IAN Records, mixed both in Atmos and Auro-3D.

And Andy Jackson's solo album AI AJ is next, also as a CD+BD-A combo, via Cherry Red.

To close with something already available, there's a new Atmos download at IAA - this time it's Trouble in the Streets - Satisfy Saturn, mixed by @austinsignal.

Just pre-ordered Boris's release.
And about to do the same with Andy Jackson's.
Already pre ordered Pineapple Thiefs, standalone, from Burning Shed .
