.... apparently this is NOT the Japanese "abridged" version as we know it. This looks to be half of a TWO LP set as the track listing doesn't conform to either the stereo or the Japanese CD-4 pressing. Very peculiar!

IIRC, the CD-4 alignment records were 45rpm, but that Carly Simon title is the first 45rpm 12" CD-4 disc I've heard about.

12" 45rpm discs are said to have better treble, but with CD-4, 15kHz is always the treble cutoff and the demod FM limiter will compensate for 45kHz being much lower volume than 15kHz.

IMHO, it's too bad real time CD-4 mastering wasn't developed, there could have been direct cut discrete quadraphonic albums.
