I was led to this Billboard ad for the 4th Annual (2002) Surround Conference yesterday while chasing @JoshM (Audiophile Style writer Josh Mound) down a rabbit hole. Check out the panel topics: "DVD-Video: The Dominant Format"; "DVD-Audio: The Upstart": "SACD: The Hi-Res New Kid." And our man Elliot Scheiner, "The Godfather of 5.1 Mixing," being crowned "Surround Pioneer." (He mixed us an offer we couldn't refuse, from the studio in his little family mansion on the prairie.) Ah...those were the days.
