This Multi-channel SACD blew me away. Her reading of these pieces is incredible. This is also the best recording of a violin that I have ever heard sonically. It's like having her in the room with you actually bigger than life. This is definately a showpiece for those that like solo classical music.
 
Absolutely agreed. Those that pass it up because it's a solo recording - i.e. what's the point of surround - are missing a real keeper. As you point out, the performance is stellar, and the 5.1 adds a deep, pleasing ambience to the recording.
 
Yes, the 5.1 definately makes a difference in providing a feel for the location where it was recorded.

I just ordered the other 7 SACD's that she has done for Pentatone. Can't wait.
