Just downloaded I Robot and Turn of a Friendly Card from Acoustic Sounds. Listening to them on my Oppo BDP-103. Definitely better than my 8 track tape. :D

Edit: Sure wish the Oppo engineers would figure a way to allow gapless playback of DSD files on this thing in firmware update.

You will enjoy the Parsons albums in DSD. Now I wonder if there are any plans at Acoustic Sounds to release that third Parson's album (Eye In The Sky) from the HDAD catalog in Stereo DSD.... ?

Oh man....I would put down my money for that in 1 second if they do....

Well, they are selling the first two Parsons HDADs in Stereo DSD, so the third could be coming. Haven't heard any info to that effect but you never know.

Are any of these DSD downloads available in multichannel?

Which DSD Downloads?

The two Alan Parsons DSD Downloads are in Stereo, taken from Stereo Analog Master Tapes. As were the HDAD DVD Audio versions on Classic Records years ago.

But there are literally hundreds of DSD Downloads in Multichannel - most notably ones on the Native DSD, Acoustic Sounds (Live Blues Masters albums), Pentatone, Blue Coast and Downloads Now web sites.
And you can a list of Multichannel DSD Downloads using the Find HD Music search engine. The search link for Multichannel DSD titles is http://www.findhdmusic.com/album-search/?q=&srch_title=&srch_artist=&srch_label=&fmt_dsd=1&ch_m=1

Sorry for the ambiguous question. I've been looking at some of these sites and haven't found any pop, rock or jazz for instance that seem to be in MC. Maybe I need to try the search you suggested. Thanks for the link!

Room filling performance on a massive Church Organ in Multichannel DSD. Thumbs up!

Review from sa-cd.net:
"Spectacular - overwhelming amazing artistry - a SOUND FOR THE AGES!!! The E. M. Skinner organ is a masterpiece of balance of harmonics, voicing, scale and color that is just overwhelmingly breathtaking! [SharonRose Pfeiffer] is a true virtuoso with all the full implications of the word. She not only plays the music but it is with heart, soul and mind.... if you were looking to have one recording that showed the best organ, the best organ music from many eras, played by the very best artist ... THIS IS THE ONE!"

The new version of "Hope" by Hugh Masekela featuring a live version of his hit song "Grazin' In The Grass". The Stereo DSD Download has been updated to the fully metatagged *.DSF file format vs. the earlier *.DFF edition. It's a free upgrade from Acoustic Sounds for all purchasers of the DSD Download edition.

That's a good one on SACD. I prefer the Stereo DSD Download that was created from the Analog Masters vs. a PCM DAC for the SACD.

I know this is an old post and one that I wasn't aware of.
I have to SACD and like but some of the drum sound is kind of closed in if you know what I mean.
What aspects of the download do you think is superior to the SACD?
Thanks

That's a choice in this case - SACD or download. As to whether there is a sonic difference, often there is in favor of the download.
What I would suggest is to take a favorite album, like this one perhaps, and pick up both versions and see if you hear a difference on your system.

With this release, where you have an Analog Master Tape to DSD transfer, if there is going to be a sonic plus on the download, you would hear it.
To me, Stereo '57 is a must have Stereo DSD Download. For the other Elvis albums, the difference between DSD Download and SACD are not likely to be as large.

I would also highly, highly recommend Elvis Is Back! either download or disk.
Some amazing music and sound. It's worth it for Fever alone, imo.

In case anyone missed it. Acoustic Sounds has a 10% off on all music, TENPERCENT.
Good til Friday 4/17 midnight CST.

I find that the Tea for the Tillerman DSD Download has more definition than the Stereo SACD. Interestingly there was an audio show shoot-out between the two that had the attendees favoring the DSD Download by a significant margin.

Elvis Is Back and 24 Karat Hits are nice. But Stereo '57 on DSD Download is in a class by itself on my system. Just amazing.

Not a fair contest. The download came from a better source.
