thanks for the help

btw whats the best way to record from an MP3 or CD onto 8 track?

The DUS, other than the obvious Blue VU lights versus Green has many additional features.

Such As:

- a Pause Button
- Noise Reduction (though it is not mentioned anywhere what kind - probably not Dolby)
- Headphone jacks for Quad 'phones, not simply a single stereo jack

The Pause feature is kinda nifty in the fact that not only does it shut down the motor, but it also has a mechanical brake that stops the flywheel!

Recording to 8-track from CD or MP3 takes a lot of patience and practice. I'd also recommend a bulk eraser as neither of those decks has an erase head. I always try my best not to split songs between track changes. So that requires a little pre-planning as to how you're going to layout the songs.

OK, the difference is explicit.
But what about something like this:

Can anyone tell me, how many modells of 858 are there?
What is better what is worse?
What was ealier (maybe some production years)?
It is quite hard to get any information about this device on the web.
