Ok, maybe this is "old stuff" for you, anyway...
back in the days i had Santana Greatest Hits on tape (both cassette and stereo 8 track), italian release, and both had "Black magic woman" singe version on it (without the piano intro and faded before the start of Gypsy Queen).
Now i got a Q8 of GH and not only BMW is the full album cut, but it does include Gypsy Queen too.
Question are:
- the GH SQ is the same?
- the longer versions are a quad-only prerogative or the USA stereo version used the longest track too?

The Best of version on my SQ is the full BMW/GQ. The time listed on the label is incorrect at 3:17. It runs past the 5 minute mark.

Thanks Bob, seems they mastered the USA quad without any editing. Of course for the stereo version there was already a single-edit master and they never had the need for a single-edit sq master til they did the GH, so they skipped.
I'm curious now about the japanese SQ 45 of BMW...
