Tonight's brew: TF Brewing Trippel 10.2%. One of the newest breweries in the Salt Lake area, but started by a brewer who has a long history of commercial brewing in Utah. Very fine Trippel. Good Trippels are rare, and they're a style that seems to be really underrepresented.

Missed posting brews the last couple days/daze...lets get back on track.

First today - Odell "Wolf Picker" experimental IPA v2019 (5.5% abv, ibu n/a). Liking this one - it's hoppy yet a little lighter on the palate, almost like a session IPA.

Another IPA, total hazy juice bomb - La Cumbre "In the Money" citra dry-hopped Dbl IPA (8.5% abv, ibu n/a)...dang fine, goes down so smooth...maybe a little too smooth!

I do like a good hazy, juicy IPA. Have you had Bubble Stash by Hop Valley?

Man, that doesn't even look like a beer, looks like a peach shake! I assume this is one of the new "milkshake" IPA styles I've read about but have yet to come across.

Not a milkshake IPA, just a *very" hazy unfiltered NEIPA. The milkshakes use some lactose to make it "creamier." Odell make their "Cloud Catcher" milkshake IPA that's pretty good and probably easy to find.

I do like a good hazy, juicy IPA. Have you had Bubble Stash by Hop Valley?

Have not had the Bubble Stash...don't see that one down this way so maybe next time I'm up in Oregon, or a quick look tells me they sell bottles in Colorado so when I'm up there in August for Bryan Ferry I'll be able to check for it - will add to my wish list I guess! Last time up in Portland I did get their "Citrus Mistress" and "Alpha Centauri."

Kicking off this weekend with Firestone Walker "Mind Haze" IPA (6.2% abv). Very nice easy drinking IPA, great balance with the "juice" and hops.

Love Firestone Walker. I hope to make it their brewery one day.

I'm drinking a NEIPA 7.1% from Salt Fire Brewery, another fairly new local brewery in SLC. Very citrusy, and hugely aromatic. And some TPT Dissolution playing in the background. Great way to kick off a long weekend.

I'm on a business trip and I've a terrible confession to make I've just drunk a few pints of ........ lager.....it wasn't my fault they don't have Real Ale here, it was that or water, when I get home next week I'll make up for it by drinking plenty of decent Ale, I promise

Stopped by Counterweight brewing after an indoor track meet in New Haven (my kid's meet, not mine). They had a bunch of good NEIPAs on tap. Here is one of them, very typical of the style and pretty tasty. Ignore the mug root beer which somehow managed to photobomb the shot

Sharing one with Mrs D - Bosque Brewing "Fresh Start" breakfast ale/stout brewed with coffee and maple (6.3% abv, 15 ibu). Nice smooth brew, the coffee and maple blend in very nicely....I could actually have this at breakfast!

Mrs D is brewing today, an english brown ale this time. Got the malts through the grinder, water is heating...I'm just getting the rest of the equipment out and in place.

Brew day went as planned, no hiccups. Just about to oxygenate and pitch the yeast, attach the blow-off tube and we're done. Should be ready for kegging in 2 weeks.

Time to share, this time with my mother-in-law. She quite enjoys sours so I opened a can of Steel Bender Brewyard "Blackberry Dynamite" (5.0% abv, 5 ibu).
