I think a focus on surround is koo, but utter neglect of these CDs is maybe like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Sure, the content isn't hi-def or discrete, but can still be very interesting if you're a fan.
I completely agree. I can't stand it when people say that record labels should just release the surround mix on a single disc cause that's all they are interested in. A CD/Blu-Ray combo, a CD/DVD-A(V) combo, and a Hybrid SACD are still IMO the best ways to get surround mixes out there, especially since CDs to me are like my savings account. Yeah I don't always use it, but I'm glad it's there in case I need it, and for me, CDs are the same.
