I never like Bad Company in their early days (most of their seventies work). I thought their records sounded boring - straight out of the garage - rock n' roll. Now that I'm older, I've been revisiting some of their stuff and I got to say, I feel the same way but not as bad as I used to. I can seem to tolerate them in very short doses (a few songs). Then, I need to not listen again for some time. On that note, I love "Desolation Angels" even though it's dated and can play that one a lot! :music

Man, I can't believe this post....because I never liked Bad Company either.....not sure why...just didn't. Still don't. When I hear their music come on...I change the channel.

I can't believe your post...man that is core rock music...in fact since I've been listening to the samples for these new remasters I just realized how much I love these Bad Company songs...oh man:walker

I know it is.....I really have no idea why they never did it for me. Makes little sense honestly....

LOL! I'll admit that I felt some of their songs were played to death back in the 70-80s. But, I've always liked their bluesy rock...enough to keep my hands off the dial. ;)

I haven't played my Dream Weaver CD in a while. With over 20,000 pieces of software, I NEVER listen to radio. No Time. So, yesterday, I'm running errands in my convertible with the top dropped, and listening to several discs from Rhino's Have a Nice Decade box. It's similar to the Have a Nice Day 25 volume set, which I also own. Suddenly, the Dream Weaver comes on. Pure joy! BTW: the cover has a protective plastic sheet overlaid on smiley deep pile CARPETING! Imagine the guy or gal at the carpet company who sold that one. You want what?!?

RHINO has done some great work on CD's over the years..

If you're a true collector, you'll NEVER stop buying CD's. I still buy vinyl IF it's Quad, or IF a title not available on CD, or better yet Hi-Res. My first record was a 78, and I still buy some of those for titles not available on any other format. :yikes

It's kind of crazy that I'm being drawn back into the CD realm again...if it's not available in hi rez I'm beating the bushes for it on CD these days...and I thought I was through with CD's:ebay

I'm not a collector...just a music lover:music..and even just being a music lover I'm having a problem with needing more dedicated space for my music..4 plasma tvs and blu ray movies.. and electronic equipment are taking up a lot of space...I actually am in the process of weeding out some discs that I don't play...and making my music inventory more relevant to my tastes...I want quality....not quantity...I try to get all the new hi rez releases and the one's that don't appeal to me are either sold or given to friends...I don't want dust collectors for the mere sake of having them count as discs I own...I want to spend my remaining time on earth listening to stuff I love..tomorrow is promised to no one...and the more friends I lose the more that phrase strikes home to me..

I marvel at people like you and Adam who are true collectors...I admire that passion and salute you for it is a noble pursuit:worthy

My collection now has not one, but two rooms of its' own. I will NOT buy a piece of software simply for different artwork, no matter how much I love it. To me, that's just stamp collecting. When Tori Amos came out with an album that had several different covers, I bought one copy.

Better fidelity, surround mixes and expanded editions have always been my reasons for buying multiple copies. Many of these old chestnuts that are being released or re-released in surround are anywhere from my fifth to fifteenth copy!

Hey Clint! You are a passionate collector, just a smart one who weeds out the chaff to keep the best. I have to do the same as I am allotted only so much space for music, and I have gone too far again! I buy a lot of LPs at Value Village to see what they are and if I think they won't spin again, I re-donate them or see if my local shops are interested. I don't have any collector friends in my city so I can't just share them like when I was in Toronto.

This one's loaded with stereo. Some of it sounds like it coulda been released in '65-'67, others sound more modern but incredible given the limitations of the source tapes. A lot of work must have went into it, and most of this music has never been in stereo before, always in mono:

Ok...in post 1436 of this thread I had some pics of the Gary Wright Dream Weaver CD I purchased...and it sounds good...but I wanted to see if I could squeeze some more out of that album...so I jumped on this Gold CD mastered by Kevin Gray to see if he could bring some more of this album to the surface..
