I've noticed that they always seem to have identical stock. If an item is unavailable at Deep Discount, then Import CDs won't have it either. Their prices are usually wildly different so it's always good to check both.

While Deep Discount prides itself on FREE shipping over orders totalling $25 and frequently has 10~15% off sales, ImportCD's prices are lower but do impose s/h and NOW sales tax [as does DD]. Import charges $2.99 for the first disc and $1.49 per additional disc and has less frequent sales than DD .... which cap off at 10%.

I did notice that until last year, ImportCD had some GREAT deals on MoFi Stereo SACDs [they had roughly 12 titles at $12~15 and usually charged $23.95 for their newer discs. Now they and DD are charging $37.95 for MoFi SACDs which is a FULL $8 above MoFi's LIST PRICE.

But it does pay to check their websites on box sets as they can sometimes surprise by undercutting the BIG BOYS [like Amazon] considerably and from time to time have DEEP CUTS on older box sets [i.e. Fleetwood Mac's Tango In The Night for around $40 w/free shipping @ DD].

ImportCD's 10% off discount [code SAVE10] expires tomorrow so I added a few BD~Vs and SACDs to my order. But among the 'deals' I found Analog Sparks Stereo SACD remaster of Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell [with two bonus tracks] for $22.91 minus the 10%. The folks at HRAudio.net declared it the most audiophile sounding remaster of Bat ever .....since the mch SACD is LONG OOP and commanding a fortune:

https://www.importcds.com/meat-loaf-bat-out-of-hell/888072004450
Another pretty good deal is Soundgarden's upcoming BD~V Live From The Artists Den

https://www.importcds.com/live-from-the-artists-den/602577632136

I have no idea if these CDs suffer from modern mastering...but a 3CD set for $9.14 is quite a deal...and the songlist is what you want...and on amazon UK the self titled Fleetwood Mac Box set is only $47.19 delivered to the US...and if you decide to get the Fleewood Mac Box Set and want the AWB 3CD set...it's only $9.60 more

Clinty, AmazonUK has this three disc set for £5 but here's a review of the AWB set from a poster @ AmazonUK [I ordered a set from AmazonUS]

Francis Domville

5.0 out of 5 starsFantastic sound, ingenious sequencing.
10 June 2019
Format: Audio CD
There have been plenty of AWM compilation albums before, but in triple CD format this is the biggest. It actually stretches right from the start (The Jugglers was only on 1973's "Show Your Hand") and dropped when the album was re-released as Put It Where You Want It) beyond 1980 and features a couple of tracks from their Dan Hartman produced 1982 album "Cupids In Fashion" that was the last with the 'classic' line up of both Alan Gorrie and Hamish Stuart sharing vocals.

I'm an AWB completist, (I've all the original albums on vinyl and have seen both the current AWB perform live as well as Hamish Stuart in various formats) and a few of my favourites (Soul Searchin, Benny & Us, Shine) on CD, but for a fiver couldn't resist this for digital convenience. It has exceeded my expectations. The mastering is big, spacious, warm and has a lovely bass rumble.

The sequencing is ingenious. It's not chronological at all, but moves with the artistry of a good DJ, shifting from raw to rich, smooth to funky, early to late. In this configuration familiar songs sound fresh and more timeless. The shinier layered David Foster produced songs sit comfortably amongst the more restrained Arif Mardin work. Tracks have been included because they're great, not because they shifted units or were on the bigger albums. Beyond the better known funk treasures like "She's A Dream" buried on side 2 of their 1978 album, and regular AWB collaborator Ned Doheny penned "Loves A Heartache" from 1982 are personal favourites that appear to have tickled this compilers fancy too.

It's a pity the gold vinyl version cuts the track listing substantially, including both 1982 tracks and She's A Dream.

20% Off Album of the Week
Positive Feedback DSD Sampler, Volume 1

Our Album of the Week is the Positive Feedback DSD Sampler, Volume 1. To create the sampler, NativeDSD invited Positive Feedback Editor In Chief Dr. David W. Robinson to select 10 Stereo DSD tracks from our catalog to celebrate the 1,000 album mark that we reached in September 2016. (We’ve now passed 1,600 albums at the NativeDSD Music store).

David Robinson was one of the first audio experts to discover and write about the virtues of the Direct Stream Digital (DSD) format. His knowledge of DSD and the available DSD recordings on the market made him the perfect guide to DSD for new listeners.

To help you discover this collection of 10 hand selected DSD favorites, we’re offering our listeners a 20% discount on the Positive Feedback DSD Sampler, Volume 1 until July 5, 2019, with album code AOTW at the Native DSD Music store. This is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD release.

Be sure to take advantage of this great offer – and consider picking up the full DSD albums that these tracks are harvested from.

i am too fucking blind to drive my 2000 Audi TT and it has one beautiful custom installed {looks OEM} JVC/BT/usb/10 cd changer head unit plays DVD-A and DTS in glorious surround'. NO DENTS OR DINGS, It has a clear bra 3M. Where can I sell this to a deserving home?

Was just wondering if the upcoming Amazon Prime Day sales (actually, 36 hours, July 15th and 16th) had anything to offer to folks into surround sound. Were there any deals, historically speaking, on APD 2018?

It's right to ask now, but knowing Amazon, when sales come, they'll hit fast and can go away or sell out quickly. So, budget wisely and be prepared for anything. There will probably be sales for the forth or this weekend by other retailers as well.

The Internet seems to catch us when we're distracted with the holiday's and we have a couple of beers.

I received an email yesterday from Whole Foods saying if I spent $10 between July 3-16 (and of course scan my Prime code at checkout) I'll get $10 credit on Amazon to use between July 15-17.

A Top 5 DSD Best Seller - 20% Off DSD Album of the Week

Jaco Pastorius: Truth, Liberty & Soul from 2xHD Mastering and Resonance Records is our Album of the Week for this July 4th holiday weekend. This is an album with more than 130 minutes of extraordinary high-fidelity ground-breaking music, on a live album with electric bass genius Jaco Pastorius and the Word of Mouth Big Band.

The band included Jaco Pastorius (Bass & Vocals), Bob Mintzer (Tenor and Soprano Saxophones and Bass Clarinet), Randy Brecker (Trumpet), Othello Molineaux (Steel Drums), Don Alias (Percussion), Peter Erskine (Drums), Blue Lou Marini (Tenor Sax), Jon Faddis (Trumpet), Jim Pugh (Trombone), David Bargeron (Tuba) and harmonica virtuoso Toots Thielemans as special guest.

It was recorded in 24 track Analog by the Record Plant mobile truck at Avery Fisher Hall in New York City on June 27, 1982, as part of George Wein's Kool Jazz Festival.
The album is presented from beginning to end exactly as it happened.

This is an Analog Tape to DSD 256 transfer by René Laflamme at 2xHD Mastering using the Merging Technologies Horus Analog to DSD 256 converter. Available in Stereo DSD 256, DSD 128 and DSD 64.
It is a DSD Exclusive, Not Available on SACD release.

Thom Jurek from AllMusic says "Truth, Liberty & Soul is for Pastorius fanatics, but it's much more. This fantastically recorded document is a treasure trove of modern progressive jazz. The brilliant music found on it serves to underscore that Jaco was more than a brilliant, singular bassist (though that would have been enough); he was a great composer, arranger, and charismatic bandleader -- a true jazz renaissance man."

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July holiday than an album of Truth, Liberty & Soul?
