Last week, Hawkwind guitarist Huw Lloyd-Langton, age 61, passed on after a two year battle with throat cancer, during which he toured the US as part of the Space Rock Invasion USA Tour (with Nektar and Brainticket), and played several gigs in UK with his own band and with Hawkwind.

Another of my musical icons gone waaaaay too soon. Only got to see him perform a few times, once with Hawkwind (2001), once as a [solo] guest at Hawkwind's 40th Anniversary event (2009), and twice on the Space Rock Invasion tour (2011). They best lead guitarist Hawkwind ever had, and a great songwriter as well.

Sad news.
Saw him with Hawkwind many, many times in the early 80's.
