Hey guys! So you probably know I'm a huge Bob James fan:bowing:- so kind of lost my mind hearing his new album on digital last Friday - definitely a new sound for Bob- but have to say, I am digging it?!

This is the official write-up of the new album that I found online - great description of the new sound:

The veteran Grammy-winning American pianist, composer, and producer continues to break new ground with his third album, Jazz Hands, for evosound following in the wake of 2018’s Espresso and 2022’s Feel Like Makin’ LIVE. Produced by the pianist with his manager Sonny Abelardo, the ten-track album was mostly recorded during the months of the Covid pandemic and is packed with musical surprises, shifting from lively jazz-funk workouts to soft cinematic soundscapes and then moving on to bouncy hip-hop jams before heading to the dance floor with a stomping disco groove.

A masterful creation that easily ranks among Bob James’ very best albums, Jazz Hands is right up there alongside his earlier masterpieces like One, Two, Grand Piano Canyon, and the more recent Espresso. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, it bears all the hallmarks of his greatest artistic triumphs, capturing the pianist at the very top of his game. Above all, it shows that despite his 83 years and seven long decades in the music business, Bob James is still a relevant, cutting-edge artist.

It also features a stellar cameo from the ex-Gnarls Barkley singer CeeLo Green on the sensuous title track and includes production input from the legendary hip-hop turntablist DJ Jazzy Jeff, who rose to fame as half of the hit-making ‘80s/’90s rap duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, early samplers of James’ music. Blending cool jazz tropes with funky dance floor grooves, blues-tinged ballads, cinematic mood pieces, and sensuous slow jams, Jazz Hands is the Missouri pianist’s most eclectic album of his long career. Simultaneously classic and contemporary, it’s Bob James at his majestic, ground-breaking, and timeless best.

Perhaps the best bit, though, is that it's available for pre-order on 180g vinyl LP (and on a solid blue colored pressing!!!) and on SACD - Hybrid Stereo and MQA-CD. I've pre-order the solid blue vinyl (of course!!) because look how good it looks?! 😍 (Bob James - Jazz Hands )

Anyway, what you guys thinking? Would love to hear your thoughts on the new album:phones
