Has anyone out there tried using a CD mat with their silver disks?
I've just tried one -a really cheap £18 S.I.D. Sound Improvement Disk, and I'm actually rather impressed, despite being more than a little cynical when I first got it. My 4 year old budget Sony player seems to be able to dig up far greater detail than it previously could. Weird. It's supposed to damp disk vibrations and cancel out any refracted laser light.
