This is the hard-to-find unit to encode 6 channel analog outputs to DTS stream or to patch a 2nd 6 channel player (DVD-A or SACD?) output to use the optical or coaxial input and DTS decoder in your receiver/processor (when you're short that additional6 ch Ext input).
