As good as that 1st It's a Beautiful Day album is, their second Marrying Maiden would be in my 10 favorite albums of all-time. Jerry Garcia guests.

Galileo & Do You Remember the Sun?

1st two albums on a single, great sounding RBCD:

Sad post, great music. Thank you.

They were of course, real popular in the 1960s and ‘70s here in the San Francisco Bay Area. KSAN FM used to play their music. “White Bird” comes to mind. They were one of those bands that seemed to come from nowhere, but once here, never went away, even if you were not familiar with them.

There was a record store, somewhere somewhat south in the US, that had a probably 10' high mural of that cover. Very happy to run across that, somewhere there's a picture of a much younger me in front of it.
Love that first one, need to hear the second.
I'm sure I heard White Bird before hearing Curved Air, Ponti, The Flock, or Mahavishnu, so David helped open my ears to violin in electric bands.

I think this a great album.

Sad news to hear :(

It's A Beautiful Day was the very 1st live concert I ever attended, sometime in 1973 at the T-Car Speedway in Carson City, Nevada.
Great 1st concert ! It was the 1st time I heard songs I loved played live.

I have three of their LPs in my collection (& later added the CD versions)
It's A Beautiful Day
Marrying Maiden
Choice Quality Stuff / Anytime (the one with the cartoon camel on the cover)

What’s the sound like on that 2-fer?
Weren’t their albums tied-up in legal limbo a la Moby Grape?

Very sad and "Good Lovin'" is one of the most kick ass, rocking songs in rock history. They just burned on that song. So together.

Even IF you haven't got a dime,
Good Lovin' is Good All the Time!!

spinning CD's of Choice Quality and ... Today.

Carnegie Hall CD will be later today

The first two Beautiful Day albums were great. I agree with Linda that the 2-fer CD release has the best sound. Saw them once in concert in the early seventies. It was a tiny audience, but the band played and sung their hearts out.

So sad to see the passing of another great musician. RIP David LaFlamme :(
