Disc navigation problem with Genesis DVDs?

I've been attempting to listen to the Genesis DVDs from the three boxed sets, but I've discovered that (when playing them in the car) the chapter advance doesn't work. The sound is wonderful, but the only way I can listen to them is to listen to the entire album in order; neither chapter advance nor fast forward works. I have tried one DVD in PAL format from the most recent set and one DVD in NTSC format from another set (Selling England by the Pound and That's All were the two choices I used), and neither one will do anything other than play the disc straight through.

Is this a problem isolated to my particular sound system, or have others observed this? And if it is not an isolated problem, is there any workaround?

(No problem with the SACD versions, which I can listen to at home--but my Hyundai Genesis audio system won't play SACDs.)
