Some interesting completed deals on eBay in the last few weeks:

HARDWARE:
A Marantz 4300 Receiver went for $414.99, while a Pioneer QX-949A went for $266.00 and a QX-9900 for $281.01. The plug in Marantz SQA-2B with Full Logic went for $900.00!!!!! (Good Job, quadg!) and a set of Sansui QH-44 Headphones closed at $162.50

SOFTWARE: Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here is the top seller of the past few weeks. A UK copy of the SQ LP sold for $355.01, a US Q8 went for $115.08, while a US SQ LP (with the blue shrink wrap and the sticker intact) sold at only $63.89. A US DSOTM Q8 sold for $62.04. Kraftwerk's Autobahn Q8 sold at $41.00. A big suprize was a Q8 of Minnie Ripperton's Perfect Angel going for $72.55. This one does not show up too often. An Elvis Aloha From Hawaii promo issue quadradisc set went for a suprising $205.50, while his rarest US QLP Live On Stage in Memphis, sealed no less, went for $127.50. An Elvis Today sold at $46.00.

The Columbia CHICAGO SQ LPs continue to bring lower but still good prices, with the double LP Chicago III getting $43.98, CHICAGO VIII netting $43.98, and the first album CTA going for $29.62.

There are usually one or two of the ABC/Dunhill QS Jukebox EPs on eBay at any given time, and they usually go for around $10 or so, but a Steely Dan Pretzel Logic recently went for $39.01. Staying with Steely Dan for a minute, someone listed all 3 Steely Dan QS LPs in one auction, and they closed at $32.51, while another seller listed Can't Buy a Thrill by itself and it went for $34.99. A Pretzel Logic QS LP sold on it's own for $20.00. Other titles of interest that sold include: Bob Dylan/ Desire $36.01, Bob Dylan/ Planet Waves $36.00, Miles Davis/ Bitches Brew $36.99, EW&F/ Spirit $30.99, a UK John Lennon/ Imagine $57.00,

Japanese CD-4s are always popular with collectors. An Elvis in Memphis went for $80.00, a Carole King/ Fantasy for $66.00, Rick Wakeman/ Six Wives of Henry the VIII $71.00 (this was an SQ LP in the US).

Quad reels offer the best of the "vintage" formats. Some reels that sold include a Randy Newman/ Sail Away for $35.07, Chi-Lites (S/T) for $31.01, Enoch Light/ The Brass Menagerie 1973 $26.17, Best of the Guess Who $102.51, The Spinners (1st LP) $60.00, Return of the Pink Panther $50.00, Doobies/ Vices-Habits $40.79, Carly Simon/ No Secrets $37.78, and the Best of Tony Mottola $36.99.

One reel I've never seen on Buddah called THE BLACK MOTION PICTURE EXPERIENCE sold for $40.96

Remember that condition obviously affects the selling price of items on eBay.

That's it for now. Good luck and Good Bidding...

I was able to pick up a nice Chicago III SQ LP set at last
Saturday's San Diego record show (seller was Skid Roper).
It's the first time I'd seen one close up and was surprised
to find it. None of the local quaddies made an appearance
at the show('cept me).

The Black Motion Picture Experience quad reel is kinda a fooler.
After I had gotten mine, I saw one go on ebay for $3.00
or so. There is really nothing obvious on the box that says quad or 4 channel. It just discretely says
4 channel discrete on one edge of the box.
So the novice seller didn't even mention quad in the description.
